Is this a good beginner kayak paddle?? What length do I need?

I would stay away from the paddle you linked pretty sure thats a heavy paddle. Try and search for a specific whitewater paddle if thats what your going to do. If you are going to do a little slow river and whitewater check out a high angle style paddle. I would target a paddle in the 190 range seems the best for your height. I would also invest in a paddle leash, which has saved me several times that way if you do roll your boat the paddle will stick around. If you know you are going to paddle invest in a decent paddle also stay away from a staggered paddle if your just starting out. You might want to find some local demos or even a rental place to try different paddles before you buy. Good luck hope this helps.
