Could hitting a BUS really make a TRAIN DERAIL?

trust me, in the real world yes it can happen, and it did happen, there was a train crash at Great Heck in the UK where a passenger train hit a car which had gone onto the tracks which ended up hitting a freight train killing passengers and staff.
